Australia: Hilco Industrial Acquisitions BV has announced that it is leading the disposition process for 10 automotive manufacturing plants, as Toyota Australia, the last remaining auto production facility in Australia, closes manufacturing operations.
The auto equipment sale will include all the key production shops and vendors that have been part of the manufacture of cars in Australia for over 60 years. Equipment offered for sale include aluminium casting, furnaces, engine line machining, assembly, robotic automation, presses, extruders, plastic injection moulding machines, welding lines and plant services. Certain key machinery and equipment items will also be made available via online auction by partner Grays Online, including maintenance workshops and general equipment.
All key suppliers and vendors in the sale include the following: Toyota Altona Car Manufacturing Plant, Ai Automotive, Toyoda Gosei Australia, Continental, Britax, Metalsa Australia, ROH Automotive, Toyota Boshoku Australia, Chassis Brakes International, and Denso Automotive Systems Australia.
Bouland indicated that demand has been high, especially with the Asia-Pacific region and Europe. He added, “We expect that as we begin to publicise the sale, the North American interest will grow rapidly.”
