EMO MILANO 2021: Over 60,000 Visitors And 91 Represented Countries

EMO MILANO 2021, the world trade show dedicated to the metalworking sector held at the Exhibition Centre of fieramilano Rho, closed on October 9, 2021.

Promoted by CECIMO, the European Association of Machine Tool Industries, and organised by the operational structures of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots, and automation systems Manufacturers’ Association, EMO MILANO 2021 registered more than 60,000 visitors coming from 91 countries.

Luigi Galdabini, General Commissioner of EMO MILANO 2021, stated: “The exhibition data confirm the value of the event, considered as the appointment of reference for the worldwide manufacturing industry of machine tools, robots, and automation systems”.
“EMO showed its importance, drawing all those operators to Milan, who could have the green light to move from their countries of origin. Moreover, the participation of the operators, coming not only from Europe, but also proves the attractiveness of Italy, regarded as one of the most interesting and promising markets, as well as a leading manufacturing country in the sector”, added Luigi Galdabini.

Alfredo Mariotti, Director of the Exhibition, pointed out: “A very large number of exhibitors have expressed their full satisfaction with the results achieved over these six exhibition days. “Qualified and very motivated visitors”, “A duly organised trade show in all its details and not least those related to safety”: these are the most common expressions of appreciation received both from habitual exhibitors of the world metalworking trade show and from companies who did not have particular previous participation experiences”.

Despite the mobility restrictions still in force, EMO MILANO confirmed its international character even on this occasion. Foreign exhibitors accounted for 60% of the total, whereas foreign visitors made up 30% of the overall number. An absolute attraction for the operators of the world manufacturing industry was the wide product offering on show, representing all the segments of the sector, expression of the production proposal of over 700 enterprises, exhibited within 6 halls completely set up for the event and covering 100,000 square meters of overall exhibition area.
Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Turkey, Poland, Russia, and Denmark were the most represented countries at the trade show, which was also attended by numerous operators from Finland, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic, USA, Great Britain, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Ireland, and Egypt.

Besides the technology offering, EMO MILANO 2021 featured numerous side initiatives, such as EMO Digital, the exhibition area focused on digital technologies; EMO Additive Manufacturing, dedicated to one of the most promising fields of the manufacturing production; EMO Start-Up, which offered an overlook of new enterprises working on the development of products and projects related to the world of production systems and metalworking. A novelty of EMO MILANO 2021 was the Speakers Corner, the arena set up in Hall 5, which proposed over 80 speeches and in-depth analyses and discussions by exhibitors and organisers. In addition, 20 meetings were hosted within the EMO ADDITIVE area, arranged by AITA-ITALIAN ASSOCIATION OF ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES. Over 2,000 attendees registered for the meetings, in addition to about 3,000 remotely connected users (for an average of 500 users per day), who, over the six exhibition days, were able to follow the events held at the trade show thanks to the live streaming service.

EMO MILANO 2021: Meet “The Magic World Of Metalworking” In October 2021

EMO MILANO 2021: Meet “The Magic World Of Metalworking” In October 2021

EMO MILANO 2021, the leading world exhibition for metalworking industry, will take place at fieramilano Rho from 4 to 9 October, when the recovery of investment should already have started. The event is promoted by CECIMO, the European Association of Machine Tool Industries, and organised by the operational structures of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers’ association.

Metal forming and metal cutting machine tools, production systems, enabling technologies, robots and automation, solutions for interconnected and digital factories and additive manufacturing will be among the products and solutions spotlighted at EMO MILANO 2021. The large and varied product offering on show, the clear link between production technologies and IoT systems will be of great appeal to the operators of the world manufacturing industry, representing all major user sectors: machine tools, automotive, aeronautics, aerospace, railway industry, metallurgic sector and materials.

With these peculiarities, once again EMO MILANO will be able to attract qualified visitors according to its tradition confirming to be the World Exhibition for decision makers of purchases in production technology as 81 percent of total visitors is a decision maker (56 percent takes part in the purchasing decision; 25 percent decides autonomously).

Luigi Galdabini, General Commissioner of EMO MILANO 2021, stated: “The expectations of the sector operators are very high, as a testimony to the firm intention of the manufacturing world to return to normality. Indeed, a large number of applications to exhibit have already been received at the Secretariat Office and their collection goes on swiftly. However, we expect that it will further intensify in the next weeks, thanks to the more and more widespread distribution of vaccines to the global population”.

Availability of vaccines, forecasts of demand growth in all the main areas of the world and important incentive measures for investment in new production technologies in Italy: these are all elements that make up a really favourable context for EMO MILANO 2021.

Indeed, according to the forecasts processed by Oxford Economics, after a 23.4 percent fall registered in 2020, the year 2021 should bring about a recovery in machine tool consumption worldwide, expected to grow by +18.4 percent to 61 billion euro, (Asia 33 billion euro, +15.6 percent; Europe 17 billion euro, +23.5 percent; Americas 12 billion euro, +19.7 percent). If we observe the single countries, all of them should experience a demand recovery, likely to continue also in 2022 and in 2023. Focusing on Europe, in 2021 both Italy (3.1 billion euro, + 38.2 percent) and Germany (5.7 billion euro, +20.9 percent) should again see a plus sign with regard to investment in production technologies. The growth trend is confirmed for both countries also in the two-year period 2022-2023.

Moreover, the Italian Government set up special fiscal incentives, which consist of tax credit up to 50 percent, for Italian companies investing in new machine tools, robots, automation systems, 4.0 and digital technologies in 2021 and 2022.

Highlights of the event includes a START UP AREA which will highlight the role of start-ups for a sector whose strong point is innovation. And a SPEAKER CORNER, which will combine the exhibition with a thematic, in-depth cultural analysis, developed through a programme of conferences on specific topics and through side events that will host discussions with opinion leaders and presentations of technologies related to the sector.

LAMIERA 2021 Offers Favourable Outlook For Machinery Consumption Recovery

LAMIERA 2021 Offers Favourable Outlook For Machinery Consumption Recovery

The collection of exhibitors’ applications is going on for LAMIERA 2021, the international exhibition dedicated to the industry of sheet metal forming machine tools and innovative technologies related to the sector, which will be on the scene at fieramilano Rho from 26 to 29 May 2021.

More than six months before the trade show, all the major players of the sector already confirmed their participation in the exhibition that will be the first event for the sheet metal forming world after about one year and a half.

Initially scheduled earlier than the usual period, then LAMIERA has been relocated again in May. The new date of LAMIERA, set just before the beginning of the summer, gives a full guarantee today that the exhibition will really take place and, at the same time, offers an even more favourable outlook on the recovery of machinery consumption.

Based on the data of Oxford Economics, the year 2021 will mark a consumption recovery worldwide, also regarding Italy, where the demand for machine tools is expected to grow by 38.2 percent to over 3 billion euro.

After all, in May, the operators attending the trade show will be able to consider new investments and renewed business projects in a more concrete way, in comparison to what they could have done at the beginning of the year, also due to the distance from winter, which will be probably the most complicated period for the health emergency.

“Vaccines, forecasts of demand growth and strengthening of incentive measures for investments in new production technologies included in the Budget Law 2021 are all elements that make up a considerably encouraging context for LAMIERA” – pointed out Barbara Colombo, president of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE”.

To the further benefit of those who will exhibit at LAMIERA 2021, also for this edition, there is a concomitance with Made in Steel. An exhibition dedicated to the iron and steel sector and also addressed to operators interested in the technologies for sheet metal working and forming, Made in Steel will be held from 26 to 28 May, besides the halls occupied by LAMIERA.

The 2021 edition of the event will be organised according to the now well-established model: around the offering of metal forming machines and technologies displayed, there will be dedicated Innovation Areas like Robot Planet, Fabbricafutura, Fastener Industry and Saldatech.

Moreover, following on from the success of the past edition, LAMIERA will combine its exhibition with opportunities of in-depth cultural thematic analysis, developed through the initiative called LAMIALAMIERA: a programme of conferences on specific issues and side events with discussions among opinion leaders and experts, as well as presentations of innovative technologies by the exhibitors.

In addition to the above initiative, LAMIERA will launch LamieraDigital”, the special project dedicated to the applications 4.0 and their integration on sheet metal machine tools, which are becoming increasingly remarkable also for this sector.
